How Story Units L T Services Limited handles personal data, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Last updated: 1 March 2025

Who we are

Story Units L T Services Limited ("we", "us"), trading as Stories by Vision, is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17359465, with its registered office at Flat 5 Wellington Court, 15-17 Wellington Road, Bilston, England, WV14 6AH. We are the data controller for personal data collected through https://stories-vision.com.

For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@stories-vision.com.

What we collect

Enquiry data. Name, email address, company, phone number, budget range and the details of your brief, when you submit a contact or booking form.

Project data. Contract, scheduling, location and invoicing information needed to deliver work you have commissioned.

Filmed material. Images and audio of identifiable people captured during production, handled under signed release forms.

Technical data. IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and referring source, collected via analytics only where you have consented.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To respond to enquiries and prepare proposals — legitimate interests. To deliver commissioned work and invoice for it — performance of a contract. To keep accounting records — legal obligation. To measure how the website performs and to send marketing emails — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We share data only with processors who help us run the studio: cloud hosting and database providers, email delivery, payment processing, accounting software, and freelance crew engaged on your project. Each is bound by a written processing agreement. We do not sell personal data.

Where a provider processes data outside the UK, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy regulation.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects: 24 months. Project and contract records: 7 years, to meet HMRC requirements. Master footage and delivered files: 7 years unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Marketing consent records: until withdrawn, plus 12 months.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email privacy@stories-vision.com. We respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Security

Data is transmitted over TLS, held in access-controlled systems with row-level authorisation, and available only to team members who need it for the work in hand. Payment card details are never stored on our systems — they are processed directly by our payment provider.

Changes

We update this policy when our processing changes. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.

This policy is provided as a working draft for review. Have it checked by a qualified solicitor against your actual data processing, suppliers and contractual terms before you rely on it publicly.
